Chica's wildlife paintings are truly wild ~ not the photorealism found in typical wildlife paintings. Her creatures have surprising color, personality and attitude. They cavort across the surface in rhythmic dance or peer covertly from the shadows. They boldly interlock or tumble in a happy heap. This menagerie delights viewers of all ages.
From a non-objective genesis, her works evolve into thoughtfully designed paintings. Up close they are pure whimsy and wit. Viewed from a distance, they are exciting abstract compositions: "serious" art.
